A few years ago (very few), I bought my first dobyns rod - a dc704Sf. A friend had talked dobyns up, and I saw a good deal at a box store. Within a year, I got a couple dobyns crankbait rods and some bottom contact rods. lo Then, I added a few more crankbait and extreme rods for feel. Now, 14 rods later, I am passing on the alf sale for fishing rods. Sure, I'm still looking at the dx702sf and dx744c - not because I need them, but I think they would be fun to fish. I "need" a jerkbait rod I guess, but they seem easy enough to fish on some old spinning rods I have.

Anyway, thanks to the junkies on here and all the insight about specific rods. The advice is generally spot on and that helps those of us who have to order without holding in the store. I have some nice sticks to enjoy from the dc732s to the dx745c with plenty in between. Since the sale doesn't end until midnight... ~shhh ...look out dc704cb.

Like most things, once you've used a quality tool, it's tough to use anything else.  ;D

Yeah, they have a way of multiplying like rabbits. Lol.

My first Dobyns was a Fury 733 C. I won it right here on UB in a Bassmaster Classic Guess The Winning Weight contest.

I'm up to an even dozen now from Fury all the way up to Xtasy and I've got at least a dozen more on my wishlist.
