FL Bass Talk (Winter 2023)

Its been raining since last night, and on and off throughout the day.  Wonder how this will effect the fishing tomorrow?

Question for the group. I'm currently stumped as well as good friend of mine. The bass are out in full force, but are currently gorging themselves on minnows. The bass that we do manage to catch are spitting up tons of minnows. Anyone willing to share any tried true techniques that will help when bass are solely focused on minnows? Not even little rapala's are working.

#1 use fluorocarbon!

#2 try drop shotting a zoom tiny fluke in a bait fish or minnow color. (Or try it on a small jighead)

#3 try a crappie jig.

All have worked for me in the past in similar conditions.

Ok,,, let's try this again. I have had to resort to micro fishing, if that doesn't catch them, I don't what to tell ya.

So when a certain rod builder tells you to bring an extra reel next time you come to town you listen....
My new reel arrives next week!!

Back in town after a couple weeks back home in Indiana. Rested today and hitting the WH Chain in the morning. A spawn has happened since I left and water has warmed the Pro's are killing it local so I am hoping for a day. Need to get out for sure.

Up since 03:30 rearing to go!! Fishing reports were off the charts yesterday!

Well WH Chain on Monday was a bust. could not believe how tough it was. A local Guide was struggling to with shiners as he kept moving all day.  Going out on Ruby this afternoon for a bit and then decide what to do for the rest of the week,

Tough fishing this week. Not sure why. Conditions are greatly improved but they fish seem shut down. even the dinks. Beds are empty and fry are numerous. Caught an almost 5 on Ruby and a dink (pics are in the Lures thread on that forum since it was a new worm I used). Fished 6 hours on Kissimmee yesterday and nothing. Boats everywhere around me but I saw no one catch anything. Three trips and 2 fish. Man its gotta get better.
