Headed to Clearlake Saturday. my expectations are limited.

been tough all summer.  then it died for the fall.

not sure what is happening now that we have had some cold weeks.  water should be way way cooler. 

i will be focused on moving baits, i think.  deep diving cranks etc.  i'll float my kayak over some deeper waters.

I wouldn't suspect it's gotten that cold. It's been years, but in November and December we could still catch them in the shallows pitching jigs and plastics to the tules. Might even catch a giant with a swim bait. However there are fish that live year round in the deep water. If you have electronics to tell you where the shad are, that's the most important.

oh.  RAIN event upgraded.  we will get soaked by lunch.  not worth the long drive.

we are gonna dial back the trip and see what is happening at Lake Sonoma.  :(. see what the smallmouth bass are doing.  say hi.

I was say its supposed to rain here in Norcal this weekend and snow up the mountain

hahah. total drizzle so I kept my face mask down and ended up burning my face it protected from the sun all summer.  damn.

oh and I got skunked.  rain came down at noon and I pulled the plug.  I did hook fish.  tiny minnows (silversides) would get caught in my jerk bait hooks.  I would skewer them ripping my jerk bait.
