Day one of a two day championship. Goal was to just put five keepers in the boat and keep me in the hunt for day two over on Caddo Lake. Managed that pretty early but they were only about 7 pounds. Caught them on a spinnerbait and beaver on the docks. Moved to the woods to find a kicker but apparently they were biting early. The leader, had 16 pounds and caught them in the woods in the first two hours. I did manage a couple small upgrades on a chatterbait in shallow trees but weighed just 9 something for the day.

Other than being almost two foot low, or what seems like it, the lake is in good shape. Water temps are falling down into the low 70's and the clarity is normal at about 9 inches to a foot in most places a little less in some.
