It looks like the results are split down the middle. I bet they change. I wonder what's going on behind the scenes for them to consider changing

Exactly Flats. To be honest I haven't watched in in a couple years. One reason is the more small fish is better than a few big fish. The other is accessibility, ie not on tv.
I would be more interested in it if they changed to this new format

I'm sort of split down the middle on this one.

On the one hand, we have other trails that fish for the 5 biggest fish and I sort of liked the fact that MLF was different. But I feel like the 5 biggest fish is harder and takes more skill, or at least a different skill set that is more of a challenge.

If MLF adopts the 5 biggest fish format what will make them different or set them apart from the others? Just a difference in the anglers fishing it? That wouldn't be enough of a draw for me personally.

Like RangerandBass I haven't watched MLF in a while.  But I can't help but wonder if we really need yet another 5 biggest fish tourney trail.

I love the every fish counts format!  Because, honestly, that is the way I fish most of the time.  I don't compete in tournaments any more.  I think there is a lot more filmable action when there are more fish being caught.  And the added drama around the "Cut line" in the sessions leading up to the final day is exciting.  For the big fish element, they have the Heavy Hitters event, and all the fishermen are trying to catch qualifying fish throughout the year.

On day 2 at the US Open, I drew Luke Clausen and he was talking about the MLF setup and it sure sounded intriguing.  I'm sure I sounded like a dumbass when I told him I'd never watched it before....
