Getting ready to head for the river.  Just waiting a bit for the tide change and we will be on our way.  Today I will be using some of the baits that Dale Verts sent me a while ago.  This is day 3 this week on the river and up until today I have been using soft plastics.  We have not had much to show for it but we did get a few bites.  I have selected three of the cranks that Dale sent.  These are three different sizes that will run at different depths.  Looking forward to giving them a whirl on the river.  Once again today will be mostly blue bird skies with a calm breeze with temps expected to reach a high of near 80.  Current temp is 61 as I type this post.  Tide transition will take place around 11 AM so will will be on the water during the transition time and the beginning of the outgoing tide.

Dale is a good guy and quite learned in that bass fishin stuff.
Good luck, have a great time.
I've never had good luck on slack dead tide, and prefer incoming for some reason, but have had good days on the outgoing, as long as water is moving, I usually catch fish.

Man, that's sad, having to resort to such tactics. Hope it worked for you- it's working well here, under entirely different circumstances of course.
