Went and got a kayak rented yesterday and hit up the ol pond. Windy windy windy so really hard to do much unless I tucked up in the reeds. I did manage to use my punch rig to get some depths along the reed lines so that was useful. Some places there is 8' of water on the edges! I had 3 good bites and learned a lesson about small kayaks lol. That is- when you set the hook hard YOU move so not all of that force is applied to tbe hook set. So while I did hook the fish I never landed any. 2 were on a a frog and 1 was punching. One frog fish combined with the wind caused me to do a full circle! Was nice to fish away from the shoreline at last and I'll be back out there this weekend.

Don't these reed pics make you want to Punch so badly?!?!

Sounds like a blast, I know I'm not the only one that is happy you found a way to enjoy bass fishing in the desert.
