Welcome to Event#7 at the LUMS SP, Bear, DE.

On Saturday, 10 SJHT members came out to battle down at LUMS.  Going off of our April 2022 results, most anglers had a good feeling at there expected performances....including myself.  After being off the water for over the last month, it felt like Spring Training for me.  Boy it felt good being back on the water after a small hiatus.

Let's get to it!!!

Lums SP is typically a hit for most.  Well, there were plenty of bass caught today, however the quality that found my line\lure was undersized.

I mean.... I caught Bass but not of the 12" minimum size.

Without further adieu, please give a big congrats to Brian *Warming Back up* who took 1st and Lunker by weighing in 3 Bass weighing 8.07lbs Brian's Lunker went a nice 3.78lbs.  2nd Place was won by  Rob *Little League Dad* Masterson with 3 Bass going 5.26lbs. 3rd Place was won by Scott *Putting Time In* Schappell with 3 Bass going 4.26lbs.  Miscellaneous was also won by Scott Schappell  .80lbs Crappie

LUMS SP TALE OF TAPE:

Brian's 1st Place Bag of 3 Bass at 8.07lbs and Lunker 3.78lbs:

Rob's M. 2nd Place 3 Bass at 5.26lbs winner:

Scott's 3 Bass 3rd Place at 5.95lbs and Crappie Misc. Winner .80lbs:

Other Anglers Bass:

Chances 2 keepers 3.83lbs bag after a .50lb Dead fish penalty:

Trappers 2 Keepers going 2.90lbs:

Jiggen Den's sole Keeper:

Other pics from around LUMS SP:

Ever look at the water laying down on the deck of boat and the tree reflections?  Looking at things from a different perspective.

Can someone identify whether this is hornets nest or What?

Summary: LUMS SP always produces for those anglers willing to explore and try new techniques other than beating the shorelines.  As was evident in this go around, the Bass were not all up in the woods but out in deeper, no cover type of areas.  I mean that wood is tempting but when the bite slows down, anglers had to move to some unconventional maneuvers.....Well for us fishing in areas not typically use to.  Guys reported losing some monsters next to the boat.  Others I heard in the distance Curse the Queen of England....after a Bass came off as they reeled it in.  LOL.  Others....kept there cool by waiting out a spot from other kaykers\leisurely anglers just out catching themselves.  I for one after catching dink after dink...just chalked it up as another Good day on the water with my guys.

In All, all 7 out of 10 SJHT Anglers caught at least 1 Bass.  There were 15 Bass caught overall.  LUMS SP gave way to total of 26.85lbs caught overall.  The  avg. weight was 1.79lbs

Overall.... 3 Anglers caught there 3 Bass Limit.

Congrats to Brian, Rob, and Scott on your performances.

Almost forgot..... Congrats to Brian and Rob on being awarded the SJBCA Anglers Excellence Award on biggest Lunker and Heaviest 3 Bass Limit under there criteria.
