So, I've been researching some trolling motors.  I'm wanting to go with one that has the spot-lock feature or gps anchor (however you want to call it).  I understand there is a shortage, but one day down the road, I would like to put this on my boat.  The 24v Ultrex is a $1,000 more than the 24v Terova. From what I can tell, the only difference is the Ultrex has power steering.  They both have I-pilot/spot-lock and built-in sonar.  What are other features that the Ultrex has that I'm missing?  What is making it a $1,000 more?

I'm not sure of all the differences, but the main one that you might want to look at is the feel of the foot pedal. I have an Ultrex, and it feels just like a traditional cable steer. I've never driven a 100% electric steer like the Terrova or Ulterra, but I've heard enough folks griping about the feel that I would definitely see if I could find someone with one to let me try it before I bought one. It might not be a big deal at all or it might be one of those "once you get used to it" things, but when you're talking about a couple grand, I'd want to check it out before I spent the change.

On the Terrova everything else except electric steer is an add on which brings the cost up. I have one of the first and am quite happy with it. I would like to update to a new unit, more accurate GPS.
