It was junk fishing at its finest today. Decided to run north, caught 35. Water is low and current was ripping, had lots of blow ups on a frog early current breaks but every one of them missed it. Caught a few on 3/8 jigs, few on Spinnerbait, few on wacky rig, and a few on baby brush hogs with light and heavy Texas rigs, current breaks are the key right now. Water above bayou serpent has about 10 inches visibility, but they're definitely still in main river at this point and caught a few I suspect ready to pop females also. Best 5 went for about 8 pounds.  Now comes the long stretch where I won't be updating for a bit. Next few weeks are stacked with next weekend being Easter weekend then the following weekend I'll be in Georgia to get married. Hurricane took lots of fish but they're still there. Takes some work to find them but they are definitely there.

You're welcome and thank ya sir. She's my pb honestly. I'm trying to make the reports a regular habit now. Plus it's been interesting seeing it recover little by little from the hurricane fish kill. Hopefully after the wedding I can make weekly or bi weekly trips on the regular. Size hasn't been thrilling but it's my home waters and holds a place in my heart

Thanks for the report. Love seeing the numbers are coming back finally. Sounds like the size too. 8 pounds is getting pretty solid for the river. Through a 4 pounder in there somewhere and you're winning tournaments.

Congrats on the wedding! Hopefully she's coming to Louisiana?

Thanks man and she already lives here working for ul Lafayette. We've had a few 10 pound stringers since the hurricane. And caught a couple of 4 pounders. It's hard to find and few and far between now. Before hurricane  it was already hard to find
