Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of fishing with FD.  This was a great decision to use his guide services and he made my two days on the water a lot of fun even in the not so easy weather conditions.  This was actually my first time being on a bass boat that actually had all of the bells and whistles that are available on the market today.

In particular I want to focus on a couple of things that I got to see first hand.  The two days on the water was greeted with some significant winds and some pretty stiff currents.  FD was able to set up on a spot by using the spot lock feature of his Ultrex or by deploying the two Talons.  I can state that the wind was coming from one direction and the current was flowing from the other.  Although the spot lock would have worked the talons were the superior tool for this particular condition.  I can only surmise that the correct way to equip your bass boat is with both tools.  Often I see folks approaching this as an either/or situation.  Certainly I understand that these tools are not cheap but I am telling you that you really need them both to cover most of the conditions.  With Florida lakes being basically shallow in nature the talons are a must.  For you deep water folks this is not a solution and the Ultrex would be the most used tool.  Bottom line is one is good while both are better.

FD also employs all of the latest and greatest electronics.  While I found them interesting and very good at providing additional information, I just did not have the knowledge or experience to fully understand what was being displayed.  I believe these tools require a significant amount time to understand before they become a true super tool.  If you consider that he had 4 large displays with one display being 15" it was quite a site.  He has a 360 system and a live scope capability along with all the other tools for mapping, down and side scan and all the other traditional information.  All were networked and able to be shared completely between the bow and helm locations.  Indeed very impressive.

I could give additional kudos for the rest of the boat as well.  The rehab he did really turned out great.  I do like the sea deck and the padded deck was also nice.  If you want to fish the Kissimmee chain you owe it to yourself to hire FD and experience the pleasure of fishing on a very well equipped fishing machine.  You won't be sorry.  By the way, I did not take any tackle at all.  I used Lee's rods/reels and baits.  These too were a pleasure to use.  Probably the best combos I have ever used that were guide provided.

Thanks Bud.  I appreciate the vote of confidence.  From the beginning,  the original model for this business was to be different from the rest of the guide services out there.  I think we have succeeded.
