Peacock bite is HEATING up in South Florida.

I have been posting my reports over on the general FL forums, but I wanted to come on over here and share my recent experiences with you guys who enjoy chasing pea's.

The peacock bite has been "on" for quite a while actually, but its really starting to pick up steam. With our temps on the rise, and water levels coming down, this year will probably be a record year for many anglers.

Lures for peas vary. But if its a topwater or a mid depth diving hard bait more than likely a peacock will crush it. Common lures such as prop baits, jerkbaits, walking baits, etc always make for a productive bite.

Structure this time of year is key. Sandy rocky areas will be your best bet. The rockier the better!! If there happens to be some current, focusing your attention on the outside edges of vegetation mats will get your lures crushed!!

Nope, didn't even effect them. There needs to be a prolonged cold snap in order to effect peas. One or two days of cold doesn't hurt them.
