Hey guys. I'm thinking about posting some reports from calcasieu as I have a few to report on now. Now I'm just wondering how many of you guys are fishing it also

3/5/22

Caught 47. Best 5 of 9 pounds. South of white oak park. Clarity stained. Most on jigs and Spinnerbaits

3/19/22

27. West fork. Clarity was stained. But they were still eating. Best 5 of 12 pounds. Most on Spinnerbait. Found a couple of bedders and those were on plastics.

Wish I could give y'all water temp but I do this without depth finders. Rivers coming back. Still need to do catch and release on it though. But still amazed how it's rebounded in a year and half

You're welcome. I'm going back in the next couple weekends. Difficult when I live an hour and a half away and gas being so much now

I don't get to fish there but every once in a while, but I do love the reports from there. It's very different fishing so knowing how you figure them out in that DARK water is very interesting to me.

Mr cork I'm 36 now and fished it all my life. Experience on it is probably my biggest thing. But to be honest I think most people see it and come in thinking black and blue, but their primary forage the crawfish are greenish brown. Unless I'm fishing when the water is real clear and tannic then the swamp crawfish on the south end are dark. Match the hatch no matter the clarity honestly.

Makes sense. The couple times I've fished it, the water is so dark it makes me want something super visible but the bass are used to that dark tanic water.

Yes sir and on the north end they like green in the muddy water. But a lot of it is location also. Eventually over years I've learned the banks that produce. Hoping to go next weekend but I gotta find a fishing partner. Fiancée doesn't want me fishing by myself and my dad might be out
