To any of the folks that fish Cotile lake, I'm looking for some updates, etc. on the lake.  We have a company tournament coming up in a couple weeks and will be making a few trips to pre-fish and asses the water conditions.  I just wanted to see if anybody had some updates to help.

I've never fished it but sure looks like a good little lake! Personally I'd go under either of the 2 bridges on the south(west?) end and fish there in practice and narrow things down.

It has alot of structure and grass.  It's just small and get pounded.  Lots and lots of boat traffic

The lake has good grass and wood cover. The west finger will normally have the most grass. The lake does get a lot of pressure. There is a lot of fish in the lake but not a lot of big fish. Look for a 5lb class fish to take big bass. There are some bigger fish but that is about the norm for big bass there. Normal winning tournament stringers go between 12 and 15 lbs. You will see an occasional 17 to 20lb stringer but those are few and far between. Our first tournament of the year was there and it was tough. Of course the weather was anything but great with blue bird skies and temps in the 20s to start the morning. 4 fish that went a little over 13lbs won that one. The lake looks good and the grass is in good shape. Y'all should do pretty good.

I have heard rumors at work that there might be close to 50 boats just in our tournament.  The little lake will be full of boaters!

took a little trip Sunday afternoon to scout out the lake.  Water seems up and muddy.  Temps around 64-65 in the afternoon after the sun was up good.  Just stayed on trolling motor and throwing lipless, squarebill, and spinnerbaits.  Managed to catch two both around 2 lbs off the banks on some stump flats.  They looked to have eggs but not busting.  Did hear a guy catch a good sack Saturday up shallow, so not sure which route to go for this coming weekend.  I'm sure a large majority are up shallow; however, there will be close to 50 boats in our tournament and I saw a sign at the landing for a derby with a free entry for Saturday as well.  I'm sure most everybody will be up shallow following in line on this small lake.  I was trying to find something a little different to get away from the crowd!

For the inside scoop on Cotile Lake's current conditions, it's always a good idea to tap into the local fishing community. Connect with anglers who frequent the lake or swing by the nearby bait shops. They've got their finger on the pulse of the place, and their insights can be gold when you're pre-fishing.
Now, speaking of lakes, I've got Lake Clementine on my radar for an upcoming trip. I'm always on the lookout for hidden gems and cool spots to explore. Any hot tips or must-see places around Lake Clementine that you'd recommend? I'm all ears for your personal insights.
