We use to do this when it got iced over....my son in the '90s with a large smallmouth I caught and 20 years later with a bucketmouth he caught....both lakes in western MA....Berkshires. John

I like this thread, good information I will need as I have no boat and need to do some fishing here in FL. I just discovered the Ned rig and bought some. I also picked up a cheapie Shakespeare Cirrus 6-6 rod n reel and went to Orlando 2 days ago where my son was vacationing. I caught 2 small bass on the Ned rig and lost one on a buzz bait. I will definitely keep an eye on this Bank Fishing thread for much needed help and information. John
