I have owned 17 bass boats during my years on the water. Most were Ranger or BassCat. I'll start off with my first 2 glass boats.

1) Star- a 14 ft. tri-hull with a 40 hp Merc; 17 lb. thrust MG troller, no storage and a decent sized live well. The boat was 100% chopper gun fiberglass.
2) Savage- a 18.5 ft. tri-hull with an 85 hp Merc;  24 lb. thrust Johnson troller, 7 ft. rod locker; small front and rear livewells and deck space for a Hippo tackle box. The boat was 100% chopper gun fiberglass. The hull weighed less than 900 lbs.

A 16' 8" Champion, my first boat with a 150 Merc. Great boat. Small, but man did I catch bass out of that thing for a couple of years.

Astro, 18' 5" for a few months, with another Merc, the XR-4. That boat fished extremely well and I sold it for more than I paid for it (used) after less than a season's use. Unheard of.

Tide Craft- the boat that I was sponsored in the last few years of my tourney career. A superb hull, huge beam, crazy big live wells, 60 gallon gas with saddle tanks... But an underfunded company that built the boats with cheap carpet, seats  and bling. One of the oldest bass boat companies in the world when they went out of business in 2002. I actually had a 2002 21' boat that was the first out of that mold- I rigged the boat and fished out of it one time. They do not show a 21 footer in the books, so maybe that was the only one ever?

I'm still considering my next boat. If it's not one specific used Bass Cat then I'm looking at new. But if a 1998-2001 20' Tide Craft in decent shape could be bought then I'd jump on it. They were that good of  ahull, and they were modern enough to be worth me spending $30- $40K and bring it up to date.

I haven't owned many and generally held on to them for quite a while. Surprisingly, my Stratos is the only boat I've owned that's is no longer in business, and it's my most favorite of any of them.

I've never owned a real life bass boat, at least not a glass one. I've only owned one bass boat 1986 Tracker Pro 16 with a whopping 35 horse Merc to be whizzing around in, a MK 30 or so TM. I earned the nickname "The bobber"
in an a tournament on Oneida, I wore a red hat, it was 3 foot rollers, one of my fellow competitors said he could see me then I would go out of sight when I was in a trough, then I would come back into sight, just like a bobber. Actually I had no problem controlling the boat. Fishing tournaments I had a huge advantage, I could shallow, much shallower than my competition, see that big dock over there that you can't get behind, the one with all the cover holding bass, think I'll go fish it. >:D

CRAP. I forgot about the Stratos. I owned a 201 Pro from 1994-1996. Great hull, stupid engine (200 looper).

I may have owned too many boats.

I've have a 17' 8" Winner since 1988. 100% fiberglass throughout, with a repowered Yama 115 four stroke.  It's been a great boat, with a narrow hull, fast for the power supplied.  Has given me years of enjoyment, and over a thousand trips.  Garaged the whole time still looks good.
(Fish) - P/B 11.4, Everglades, L67, L28, Little 67, Alligator Alley, Sawgrass, Holey Land, Loxahatchee, Ida, Osbourne, Okeechobee, Weston Lakes. Broward and Dade Canals.

1999 191 Champion 200 Merc. When I started the 186 Champ with a 150 was one of if not the best rides imo. It was about that time when BASS upped the horse power limit bringing bigger boats  into play.

1993 Astro.  Great boat until the wood in the transom rotted out...

Cobra!!!! Absolutely loved that boat. Quick, stable, and pretty to look at (if you asked me). If I was in the hunt for a used boat, I'd look for another one...

Yep, super boats. I sold them for about four years. Some Champion in them (John Storie) and a lot of quality. They were building them up North a few years ago, but I guess they went away.

14 ft Terry, 16ft Kingfisher a great old trihull, 17ft ProCraft, 17ft Randallcraft, 181 Champion a fast, quick fun boat, 2005 Champion 198 Elite that I still have and the last bass boat I plan to buy, not that fast but a dream in rough water.

My first boat is the only one I've owned that is no longer in production. It was a 1994 17.5' Javelin with a 175hp Johnson and a 45lb Evinrude trolling motor. There was no hot foot or hydraulic steering and this was my first boat that could go fast enough to chine walk. Needless to say, I had no idea how to drive it. I would just go as fast as I could but just slow enough to not have it chine walk.

The owner before me had also had some sort of an issue that caused a short somewhere that affected the ignition. So his rigged up this "workaround" process to start the motor that went as follows:

1) Turn on the master power
2) Turn the key to "start"
3) Press the horn button

I'll be danged if that boat wouldn't start every dang time!

So then you had to hit the nav lights to honk the horn???
