Anyone fish the Tucson area?

Going to be out there next weekend and thinking about trying to fish.  I see some reports of a some lakes and rivers, but any advice would be appreciated.  Not sure I will, as I may have to buy some gear (don't want to fly with my gear), but might try.  I have an 8 year old that might enjoy it.

I was there for a couple months once before and they do have several "city lakes". Most are easy to walk around and vary in clarity/depth. It was Jan/Feb when I was there and they stocked it several times with trout that the locals were catching. I do know that they have bass in em but only caught 1 my whole time there.

There is a website that talks about it. Can't remember off hand.

One side note is that it there is that Ace Hardware stores sell fishing tackle! One store had so many of those Roboworm finesse worms it was nuts! Like hundreds of colors/sizes to choose from!

I did go down south and fish a small mexican border lake- Patagonia- that had great reviews but I didn't catch anything. Hiking in the mountains there was super cool and my phone even picked up Mexican cell service lol!

it's a long way away... but the hook up tackle store is in Peoria, AZ (NW suburb of Phoenix).  'only' a 3 hour drive...
i have a client in Phoenix... thinking of scheduling a visit just so I can get there and visit the store...

Thanks.  Yes Phoenix is only 3 hours away and seems to have better fishing there.  Not sure I want to make that drive as I am not really there to fish.

What weekend will you be in Tucson?  There's really no bass fishing here, but I can take you out on Roosevelt if you have a full day to burn....
