Hi

I figured I start a new tread, documenting my build up, asking questions etc.
Since it is winter a drove to my local mall garage.

First up was to mount the transducer, Garmin GT-56.

Previous owner (dealer - mojoboats) had a Lowrance setup, luckily the screwholes is a perfect fit for my garmin.

And then arranged the cablesock.

Tomorrow I will try to mount the fishfinder, but then i need to reach all the cables inside the console.

And here is my first question; Does it work to open it through, by lifting the dark grey plastic with all the instruments. Or how do you do it?

Are there any wires or spot for wires by the mount? Are you mounting the unit on top of the dash or at the mount?

I think I will do something like this. But have to wait a bit for parts etc.

Have started fixing a bit with a fuseblock. I will power all the fishfinders and some electronics (led:s, fans for the compartments etc) with separate litium battery.

That's a neat looking setup, I agree with Dale, seperate battery is the best way to go.

The pic you have showing what you think you are going to do is how mine is. They had a premade hole there and the little graph mounted so I just ran my wires up thru it. If your boat doesn't have that you "may" be able to drill a small hole just forward of your mounting post and feed wires up it. It will look almost just like the pic you posted.

My fuse box connection(where I ran my wires too) is just below the console forward of the throttle lever. Horrible spot! Where did they put the one for your boat?

Trackers fusebox is located inside drivers console, kind of under the steering wheel.
I´m planning a second fuseblock in the right compartment. I will connect it to a lifepo4 battery in that compartment, but also a cabel so I can switch to starter batteries. As starter batteries I have two lead batteries, and these two have a switch for number one, two och 1+2. I will have two 100AH Lifepo4 specific for TM.

Mounting to be continued.

Got a Garmin GMS-10 and connected it to my fuse-block.

And then started to dismantle the console.

You have to acess screws behind both right and left panels.

Then the dashboard and the cables to the gauges.

Underneath the console there is a fuseblock (connected to the boat main batteries, which is 2 AGM 100 AH) and NMEA connections.

My own fuseblock goes in the front right compartment, and will be powerd by LiFePo4 battery. But I will also have a cable to the boat fuseblock, so i could connect to mainpower if needed.

Drilling...

and cables goes in the console

connecting NMEA2000

And conecting the fishfinder.

Finally  :)  it´s up and running.

And today I continued with installing a Fishfinder / Garmin Echomap Ultra 12in.  in the bow. It was pretty straight forward / Easy to do. Power cable and network cables to the front.

Sorting cables

The tubes for rods goes to the bow, so it was very easy to use one for the cables.

They came out perfectly under the bow (white arrow), old powercables from previous installation (blue arrow).

Soldering powercable to fishfindercable.

and there it is

I´m waiting for a mount to the fishfinder (Dek-it).

So this is how it looks so far:

Whwn i did assembly the dashboard I noticed that the left small gauge didn´t have any light. I looked into it and looked att my pictures from when I disassembled the dashboard.

When I did assemble the dashboard I noticed that the smal left gauge (water pressure) didn´t have light. I looked at pictures from when I dessembled the dashboard and could see that it didn´t seem like it was connected in the first place.

I looked into it and did som resarch on internet, and it seems that Trackers gauges is analog, and doesn´t play with Evinrude G2:s digital system (but works better with Mercury). As you notice the original tachometer is changed out for Evinrudes digital gauge called Nautilus. I emailed the dealer and he confirmed this. I guess voltmeter and speedometer works, but probably not the fuelmeter integrated in the speedometer.

I´m a bit annoyed that the dealer didn´t tell me this when they sold me the boat. Kind of an unpleasant surprise.

Anyway, it is what it is.

I like analog instruments. I like the look and I find it easier to read them at a glance going at speed in rough waters. Doing some reading the most obvious solution would be to buy and mount Evinrude original gauges (Icon basic). But it comes to a cost of course. So that might be a future project.

Great detailed pics!! Glad almost everything worked out well for you besides the one gauge. Def something the seller should have mentioned.

That is a nice looking install, very neat and tidy. You should see under my console, all the wire is the same color and it looks like a real nightmare, wires crisscrossing all over. I'm afraid to do anything with it. Tough being the third owner, and there aren't any schematics. I tried getting them from Tracker but they didn't have any.

I finally got my Dek-it mount. It was an easy installation, and turned out just as I wanted.

I also orded some struts from amazon and installed. Also very easy and works like a charm. Just can´t understand why Tracker don´t install strut in all lids (in my boat 2 out of 5 lids have original tracker struts).

Well, that was the easy stuff.

I did contact my dealer and some other dealers about the gauges, and what it would cost to buy a set of Evinrude Icon Basic gauges. It turned out it would cost me 1700 us dollar  :shocking:... From old price-lists I have found on the internet, I think it did cost about 700 dollar when bought togheter with a new engine. So I had expected a price under 1000 dollar. 1700 dollar is just not worth it. So I did som thinking and had to reconsider my setup. Those 2in gauges that is disconnected just bugs me to watch. I figure I will try to mount a 9 inch screen on the consule, instead of two on the side of the consule. There is not so many pictures of consul mounted screeens out there, but I did find some. Coulden´t see any details on how they were mounted, so I had to figure it out my self. So this is what I did:

I think this will work. I´m happy with the placement of it. And it seems to be sturdy enough. I have used that ball-mount before with 9in screens and it works (but not for 12in screens, they are to heavy and need stronger mounts).
I´m not finished, I will have to install the cables and do a cover between consule and the screen.

Anyway, I hope someone will find these pictures useful, planning a installation.

And well, inside the consul the electronics is a bird-nest too. I would say pretty sloppy work from either Tracker or the dealer. Mostly from the dealer I think, when they installed Evinrude stuff.
