So my little brother lives near Syracuse, he told me the other day he wants me to come up end of May, early June and go fish Cayuga with him.  Neither of us have ever fished it, I have heard to stay in the North end of it chasing bass.  Have also heard it is full of milfoil I believe, but just wanting to get some suggestions on how to fish it that time of year and maybe some of the baits that do best?  Just trying to do some homework.  Thanks in advance!!

Sorry for just now responding. I've never fished on Cayuga, but I have some buddies who have fished it in some bigger tournaments and here's what I know.

The extreme north end is the heaviest with weeds and lots of largemouth. Late May is probably going to have the fish spawning if that's when you're going. I know the southern end of the lake has more docks and things around, so if you like fishing those, have at it.

The lake is naturally pretty clear (like 15 feet of clarity), so you may need to do some sight fishing with a good pair of glasses. The lake also gets VERY deep. Because the lake is full of LM and SM, you can target either species in whatever different patterns you prefer to fish.

No problem wasn't expecting a response right away!  Thanks for the info and some tips.
