Fished our bass club's annual two-day tournament out of Roland Cooper State Park last Saturday/Sunday (Nov 6/7). Was hoping the bite had picked up a little bit from previous trip to the lake, but I failed to locate bass of any size. I did get a small limit each day and that is something that can't be said by most of my fellow club members. 12.80lbs over two days pushed me into a second place finish of 11 participating. My keepers came from the back of a creek north of Roland Cooper and all came via Zoom Ultravibe worm, Candybug color. Spraying Spike-It red dye with heavy garlic scent seemed to help the bite when sprayed on the tail. One member found a hump in a creek that came up to about 6ft and it had both bait and solid keepers located in its vicinity. He dominated the tournament with almost 30lbs in two days. Another tournament launched from Bridgeport on Saturday morning - never did hear any reports of their day on the water. Our members collected trash from the lake on Sunday - enough to fill up a trash can at the launch site.  Every little bit helps when trying to keep our waterways in good shape. Water temps started in the low 60s each day and rose to upper 60s throughout the day. Fog was another obstacle we had to deal with. Patchy each day and burned off by about 7am. Please take a look at my posts under Miracle Strip Bass Club in the Bass Club Connection for further info, but I have reposted a couple of my pics here. Roland Cooper State Park has some nice cabins - the smaller of which have two bedrooms (two bunks and a queen), bathroom, and kitchen with table and TV. Nice place to call home for a couple days.
