Another proud Gambler owner here. I have a '95 Dale Earnhardt 21' 9" w/225 Mercury Opti. Love the boat. My mom boat it for my father as an anniversary gift. But dad spun it around 180 degrees doing about 72 mph. We hit some rough water and his foot bounced off the hotfoot. It scared the @$%# out of both of us! That's how I aquired the boat. He hasn't driven it since. I'm having some problems with it chine walking. Pretty sure my motor is set too low. There's alot of boat in the water. Hole shot isn't that good either. Gonna play with it this weekend.

Good fishing.

I have a friend here in Tampa that I fish with who had (notice the word had) the same exact boat and it scared him so bad he traded it in for something a bit less squirely. His biggest complaint was it did not handle a chop very well and would get sideways on him at high speeds.

Good luck with yours.

Welcome to the site! I think your going to find out that your going to need alot of seat time to get the feel of the boat ! Alot of the times the chimewalk can be driven threw !I think of it as a unbalanced tire at 60 you have a virbration and at 65 it go's away  ~sweat ! Asfar as a rough water boat I think you'll find that gambler handles the stuff just as good as any other !  Now let us all know what prop ' and where the prop and pad are setting  ? and what jack plate ! and we'll see if we all can help you out ! Just remember us guys with the older models knows what the word "hook" means ! and it's no joy ride  :shocking: :shocking:  Again welcome to Gambler !
