One of the greatest of all time. Not only was he a heck of a fisherman, Aaron was the nicest most genuine person you would ever want to meet. Rest In Piece Aaron Martens. You'll be missed both on and off the water. Prayers to the Martens family.

Hallelujah he was a Christian. Prayers for his family. One of the few that didn't let it get to his head.

I will admit it took me a while to warm up to him, when he started he was a bit of a whiner, excellent fisherman but a whiner, he matured and I started pulling for him. He may have been the best finesse fisherman on the planet, especially with shaky head and dropshot, he was an excellent teacher, just watch the videos he did. he was an excellent family man. Aaron Martens will be missed!!!

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

Truly a sad day. As mentioned before, he matured from a bratty teenager fishing team events with his Mom, then on to West Coast Pro/Ams and finally the highest level of bass fishing competition.  He grew into a genuinely nice man who willingly shared his knowledge.  I admired the relationship he had with his mother and family.  A life well lived that ended too soon.  Prayers offered for him and his family.
I knew I shoulda re-tied!!

So sorry to hear, he is gone way too soon.  Good bless his family in their time of need.  So sad!

While not knowing him personally, he seemed to be a Genuine Real Deal. What you saw was who he was.

Family Man.
Christian by Faith.
Excellent Bass Fisherman.

I'm sure he will be missed by those that knew him.

This one hurts. I do believe he was the best all around bass fisherman ever. People talk about his whine, you have to understand him. When he started doing that he knew he was on the fish to win. He was just missing something and couldn't get them to bite. He would have been something else with the new live depthfinders. Biggest advice I ever got from him was on the dropshot. He told me to always start with a short leader and get longer. He said the more they have to move for it the better they get a look at it.

I saw this last night, very sad. Condolences to the Marten family, his friends, and to his fans.

Oh no. So very sad. He was one of my favorite pros.

Aaron was a believer. He is with the LORD now and we can actually be glad his suffering is over.

My prayers will continue to go out for his family.
