After spending three days at Miller's Ferry (Alabama River impoundment below Selma AL), traveled north to Prattville to fish the river out of Cooter's Pond. Spent half of Monday and all day Tuesday there, mostly upriver from Cooter's Pond. The good spotted bass bite has not developed yet. Need some cold weather to move in. They must have generated power on Monday night, because the river was a good two feet low on Tuesday morning when I showed up. The bite was almost nonexistent until about 11am. Then the Zara Spook and Bandit Flat Maxx started drawing a few strikes. Spotted bass in the Alabama River like a full meal deal - seldom will you need those small little worms and finesse baits. At one point Sunday my rod loaded up and I could immediately tell I had a good fish. As the fish went zooming by the boat I verified I had a good spot on. The next time I saw the fish, there was another one with it on the other treble hook. I lipped the big one, pulled both into the boat and the smaller one came off and landed on the floor of the boat.  The larger went about 4lbs and the smaller one went about 2.5lbs. That 12lb Cajun Red Line got a workout. Pulled the boat out at about 5pm after burning about 16 gallons of gas. 3 hour drive home - it was a long day.

My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small.

Those big spots are a blast. Thanks for sharing the story and the fishing report.
