What's new with Lorance and me

I received 2 emails from Lowrance yesterday, the first said they received my bad unit, it only took FEDEX 10 days to get it there. The second was my replacement for the replacement was on its's way to me, at 10 days I'll get it by a week from Thursday, hopefully I'll get several trips in to check it out.
In the second email it told me it takes a 50/200 transducer which is what came with the original unit. I was told by the tech I first talked to told me it was a different unit, 83/200, that was the start of this mess.
At least I'll have a unit to check out.

I wish I could have afforded the HDS, this is the HOOK, the "low cost" model. At 700$ I would expect a little better reliability, I remember when half that got you the top of the line.

I have never heard good things about the Hook units and that's going back to the original when it came out.

I swapped over to Garmin when the Echomap Plus units came on the seen and got rid of Lowrance Gen 3 units for that......it was a great swap....units always work when turned on and no issues with software updates......was losing interest in Lowrance with problems and quality over the years....
