Hey ZippyDuck, query. I have a bunch of Erie Dearies, I have no real clue as to how to fish them, how do you fish them if you use them?

Old Fishermen never die, their rods just go limp.

I only use them when drifting in a steady 10+mph wind.  And only when the walleye are on the bottom. Let it drop to the bottom then wind up enough to just keep it ticking the bottom every once in a while, so maybe a foot. Tip them with a nightcrawler of even a senko. I rarely use them because I am really good at trolling for walleyes, and they are usually suspended in Erie.
They work real good in the spring when the eyes are in 30 fow or less.

My father is an Erie Dearie master. He mostly uses them for walleye but he'll fish them for bass as well.

We've started cutting the stock cheap hooks off, adding a split ring, and a high quality barbed straight shank flipping style hook. We normally tip them with night crawlers or leaches for live bait. Or we'll use a Fat Albert grub or even a craw like a Speed Craw will work as well.
