Welcome to this years SJHT's 18th Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament.  On a day where the weather was forcasted to be cloudy with sporadic clouds and sunshine, at least the temps remained in the mid 70's. 30 Boats, a total of 56 Anglers came out to win the ORIGINAL SJHT Bass Fishing Belts!!!

This leads me to the extraordinary turnout and participation in Saturdays, July 3, 2021 event.

Great turnout for a 4th of July weekend.  I hope the small refresements and nourishment provided made your day on the water that more enjoyable.
for our 18th straight Union Lake Open Buddy T., we  THANK YOU.

To the SJHT members that helped with this event.  Wayne *Moe* Neville Sr. ....and  Scott Schapphell. Joe Reed on the Grill and  on the weigh in books   recording each teams bag.

I personally Thank you for easing the load and making things run as smoothly as they were.

and last but not least...our very own John *Bama* Barrett.... Title Sponsor of this years Union Lake Championship Belts Alarms by SAFE-TECH and Gloucester County Awards and Trophy out of Sewell, NJJohn Nestore does fabulous out of the box custom type trophies, plaques, and of course the Open Buddy Tag Team Belts.

Without there continued support and generosity, SJHT would find it very difficult to keep the level of expectations as High as we put it.  Thank you Gentlemen once again.

South Jersey Hook This! would also like to Thank all of the dedicated 30 boaters\56 Anglers that came out to this event.

Okay... Let's get right to it.  Without further adieu, Here is the official 2021 SJHT Union Lake Open Buddy Tale of the Tape

Let's give a big congrats to this years 2021  New SJHT 18th Annual Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament finishers.

1st Place winner of  Tom Greene & Andrew Greene 5 Bass weighing 13.60lbs  $840.00

2nd Place Team and winning Lunker Mike Copley & Joe Hawk 5 Bass weighing 13.51lbs $504.00.  Lunker 4.26lbs at $300.00

3rd Place Team of Bob Potts & Troy Burger with 5 Bass weighing 11.42lbs $336.00

Anglers Launching in the AM:

Anglers and there catches:

1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Lunker Champs:

In Summary: 14 out of 30 Boaters caught at least 1 Bass and weighed in.  There were #9 of DNW a Fish and may have released them before coming to the scales.

There were a total of 49 overall Bass weighed-in totaling 94.24lbs.  That gave way to an avg. of 1.92lbs.  There were 42 Largemouth Bass weighed in and 7 Smallmouth Bass weighed in.  As one can surmise by the Tale of the Tape, there was a total of 4 Limits brought to the scales.   We had 1 bass die however only a handful required being rehabilitated in our SJHT High Efficency Output 100 Gallon Oxgenated Holding Tanks with Rejuvenade.  On a moderate, cool, overcast 77 Degrees day, this was deemed as very successful.

Anglers reported losing some nice Bass close to the boat as they tried to haul in.  Some anglers caught them in there normal Summer hang outs however catching that kicker Bass seemed very elusive.   The total caught this year compared to last year was a slight decrease.

Congrats to the prize winners and all that came out and supported the 18th annual SJHT Bass Fishing Club Union Lake Open Buddy Tournament.

Thanks again to all who came out on this 4th of July Holiday event.  I know you could have been in a million and one other places but we're just appreciative to all who showed the love.
