Fished our way to Presque Isle Bay for BASS Eastern divisional this week. Pa. waters were shut off until Sunday. Launched at 3pm. Lake was still rocking from a strong 15 mile wind out of the west though were diminishing.  Had to be real careful running the seams out to the Pinehurst shoals. Caught a dozen or so bass and some giant drum that tested the drag. We found them 22-24 dragging swimbaits and drop shots using the wind for anout a 1 mph drift. Winds diminished and only substantial residual swells on trip back. Gorgeous evening entertained by the Blue Angels practicing for Saturdays Air Show in Buffalo.
Got back to the ramp the following morning. The lake was angry. The harbor master encouraged us to save our $15. We had a good morning doing the same drift as the night before. Got some practice landing without a net (per BASS rule) while rocking and rolling. About 1 it started geting dangerously ugly even for dumb Mainers. Careful 1 hour run back. We picked up a walleye angler at Sturgeon Pt and dove him to his trailer 15 miles up lake. It went from probably not a good plan  to dangerous. Got some more great lake seat time though. Looking at the weather for Presque Isle this week it will come in handy.
Air Temps low 70s, water high 60s. Fish 20-25 on the bottom. Strong West Wind.

Great report Eric!  ~c~

Zippy has a camp on Presque Isle bay and fishes it very frequently. He may be able to give you some additional insight if it's not against the rules.  :-*

We're in the no info period. Thanks though. Great place for a camp.
