I was given the opportunity to test out an Ultra Lightweight 4k Vlog camera made by company called AKASO. I decided to take advantage of the opportunity and field test the camera by debuting on my first fishing video with commentary. Needless to say, this was an eye opening experience for me. I have a better appreciation for those who decide to stand in front of a camera and share information to the world. I want to thank you ahead of time for taking the time, to watch my first video.  ~beer~

Great first video!
I prefer the wide format than the narrow one because it doesn't waste You Tube real-estate with black bands.
Don't need to apologize, just be proud of what you are putting out there.
A little hint is to picture someone you know in your mind and talk to them.  It makes it easier.
I see our new Bill Dance in the makings.

Thank you Jim!! Appreciate your input.  ~beer~ I'm learning that the orientation of that camera limits those black bands.

I know the video abruptly finishes with the alligator footage, but the camera's battery died during my closing, and had to scrap that footage. I will fix that on my next video.  :-*

Pferox

I figured that.
Does the camera use a memory card of some kind?  If so you can always get spares then you can keep on recording.
Find a good video editing tool this way you can cut and splice to make your videos.  I spent a few bucks and got WonderShare Filmora, it is pretty easy to use and has just about all the features you need to make some impressive videos.
When I started out, I bought a couple of Go Pro knock offs, for a fraction of what a true Go Pro went for, got a wireless mike and started videoing, most of my stuff was in the shop, but I did get a few fishing vids.
It was a great first video, practice talking to yourself in the bathroom or when you are alone, it will get better as you go.
That's is where I was a natural, I talk to myself all the time.  ~roflmao
In a pinch finish it off with your phone.  :-*

Practicing talking to myself should not be problem, I'm a certified pro at that.  lo lo

Thank you for the editing software recommendation.  :-*  Filmura is one of the programs I was looking at. I used the video editing software that came with my laptop, and I don't like it.
This camera does utilize a micro SD card. I will be covering these features on the second video where I will specifically talk about this particular camera.

Bravo, this turned out awesome. I'm got miles of B roll that never get used LOL but in all my trial and error I'll be working out some stuff this summer finally.

I think you did awesome :toot:

Sorry to be so vocal, but I've been doing this video stuff for a while, I even had a live stream weekly for a while on twitch.
I have gone through a lot of cameras, heat gets to them.  Many a time, to get the right angle and light in my shop, my cameras were exposed to direct Texas (just like Florida's) sun light.  It cooks them quickly.
I always had a collection of spare batteries for both the cameras and the wireless mike.
I used my cameras to get "A" roll shots and when I could I used a web cam on the computer to get fill in shots.  I also got "B" roll shots after the fact, things like shots of the gear used, etc.
Videoing is a lot of work, but it does make great advertisement for your business.  I would talk to an accountant, but I'm sure you could get some kind of tax break  buying your equipment  for the business.

Thank you Mike!! I really appreciate the kind words.  ~beer~

You're a natural at this Lou. Would never guess it was your first video.  ~c~

Video quality is excellent for that camera and I'm impressed at the sound as well. No matter what mount you used I could hear you clearly which isn't always the case with these cameras.

I really appreciated that info. on the history of your waters too. Looking forward to your future outings.

Appreciate the kind words Jim, thank you!! Natural? I will say I'm a work in progress....  lo lo

As far as the camera, I am surprised how well the audio turned out, considering the volume of cars passing by. I was standing above the camera during the gunnel mount footage, and the audio wasn't that bad.

I really liked it Lou, and kudos to the gator for the cameo appearance. It finished it off well.

You'll get better, especially if you pay attention to pro advice like Pferox gives you.

And don't apologize. It shows weakness (Gibbs). You're doing great. I mean, very very cool. Makes me want to come down there even more.

Also, don't change who you are or the way you talk. Cameras seem to make folks into actors, which is why I don't do reality TV like "Swamp People". Be yourself, and the slick will come, like any music, fade-ins and outs, etc. Just take it slow, catch few bass, and watch it develop.

You've got me wanting to try it again. You guys are BAD for me.

Thank you Dale! Appreciate the advice.

I literally know nothing about video equipment and use. But I really like your approach to the day and how you showed off your playground.
