One thing I used to do is throw buzzbaits shallow at noon, bright sunny day noon, not always but there are times when bass are feeding then and I could get a good bite going. Fishermen would come back, ask me what I was doing then pulling away wondering how dumb I could be, after all, everybody knows buzzbaits don't work at noon. Guess all the bass that took the bait were dumber than me.

Great tip, some of my biggest surface bass have been in the bright sunshine.

The bass is a sunfish after all :-*

Everybody knows topwaters of any kind don't work at noon. Like throwing a black Tiny Torpedo in ultra-clear water on a bright sunny afternoon. Don't try it. It doesn't work.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

This Florida Bass hit the lure at just after 1PM.  PS.  It was not the only one.  Picture taken at Vero Trophy Bass Lakes

All summer long, but especially in June, here in MO.

I will throw that bad boy all day long if I am on a certain body of water here at home!!

By bending the wire right or left the bait can be made to run into cover, at times a trigger that can produce good numbers.

No big ones, but they were SMOKING a buzz bait yesterday under bright skies, ninety-plus degree temps, and the water was 84. You couldn't out-crank them. If they wanted it, they got it.
