5/29 Dekalb County Public Lake

With the cold front pushing in I didn't have high expectations for the day. The temps had dropped significantly compared to the day before and the wind was forecasted to gust up to 20 mph. We were going fishing anyway. Thought it was going to be a good day when I hooked up with a 3 pound fish right off the bat, but fumbling with the GoPro to get it on video caused me to let it get off the hook.

Fished hard for what seemed to be an eternity ( about 3 hours ) and finally landed a 16" fish on a square bill crank. It was funny actually, only reason we were in that area of the lake was a bathroom break for my daughter lol. Turned out to be were we started catching fish.



She got this one on a lipless crankbait next



A 23.25" pig on the jig!



Another 18" bass on the jig.



I caught another small one on the jig before calling it a day. We had a good day on the water and ended up with a nice bag. Water temps varied from 73-75 in places, good stained water. Started the day off cloud and overcast skies led to clearing skies.

Yes she is Mike, she's shown a great interest in fishing so far. I hope she learns that not everyone that starts out bass fishing has her success. I've told here there's going to be days that she doesn't catch any at all lol!
