had a buddy visit for past few days and we tried to 'light 'em up'.  if only it were that easy.   lo
Friday we drug the boat up the mountain and over to Tims Ford.  Day started overcast and cool with air temps in low 40's.  would warm up to mid-60's by afternoon and go to partly cloudy.  Dogwoods were in full bloom (about 1 week in) and redbuds are now winding down. Lake levels were about 1.5 feet from full pool, water was stained to slightly colored.  Water temps were 63°F.  Wind about 8mph out of NNE.
went right to what I thought was best chance at fish.  had to fight for them.  Buddy picked one up off a flat, pea gravel point with a t-rigged soft plastic.  About 17 inches of that beautiful green/gold colored smallmouth.  I chucked a spinnerbait, a swimbait, a tube and a football head jig.  rotating.  nothing.
moved further back in the cove and found a few on the northern facing slope.  just a few.  one more SMB a couple LMB.  most action came on small t-rigged plastics.

picked up and ran around to a few other places with zero success.  trailered up and went to a lake I know in alabama to finish out the day.

pretty day on the lake.  a little chilly early on to be out without a jacket and running.
