Fished wilson & Wheeler this past week.

  • Monday on Wilson: Launched from Alloys Park. Weather was nice. Water temp 63* in the backs of the creeks. I Caught 10 largemouth all on shakey head. Dad caught around the same number plus several white bass
  • Tuesday on Wheeler: Launched at the crappy ramp by the cabins. Weather starting to take a turn, getting windy. Caught 1 LM and 1 SM. Dad caught a nice SM plus a few dinks. Water temp holding in low 60's
  • Wed on Wheeler: RAIN.. Cold Rain. Didn't get out on the water until a little after lunch. Launched in First Creek, fished in second creek and a little in first creek. Caught 2 again, mixture of shakey heads, small square bills, spinnerbaits... Wasn't counting Dads fish, but he caught several including a pretty nice LM. Water temp dropping
  • Thursday on Wheeler: Having motor problems. Trim/Tilt quit working, and the starter relay died. So the outboard was useless. Wind was HORRIBLE, which made matters worse. Due to motor problems we didn't get on the water until 1030. Launched and fished in second creek. I didn't catch squat. dad caught around 12. Water temp ranging 58*-61*

Got up this morning and headed home.

Yeah I always try to throw in info about ramps b/c I hate pulling up to one and it being crap. lol

Alloys park looks sketchy when you pull down there but, the ramp was in really good shape and the dock was nice. Parking not so great, but, it wasn't terrible. The Cabin Ramp sucks. Period. lol. But on a south wind kind of day, when you've got to fish the south side to stay out of the white caps, it's really the only ramp on that end of Wheeler. First and Second Creek ramps on wheeler are both really nice. The ramp on the south side of Wilson right below the dam is a really good ramp as well. Protected by the rock jetties.
