For anyone interested, the WSSC will be keeping the reservoirs open during the winter for shore fishing only, and no permit will be required. The bass may be hard to find, but I'm sure the Northern Pike and Tiger Musky might be active. If the reservoir doesn't ice over, might be a good way to beat cabin fever this winter.

Good to know, would rather take my kayak out but get it that they allow it.

I'd be leary of boating there in the winter- water gets pretty cold and if you aren't wearing a PFD and dressed right, you could be a goner from hypothermia in a matter of minutes- I found out in April of 2009 when the water temp was in the 50's and I fell in when my boat capsized. Had it not been for a PFDS and a kayaker that saw me in the water, I wouldn't be here today.

Very true.  Water was pretty shallow 2 weeks ago and cold.  Don't have a dry suit yet either.  Was good to see all the structure again. Can't wait to try again in the spring.

Haven't fished in a couple years, don't know how far down the pool level is. I did see a couple of weeks ago they had a 94 year old man drown, not sure how it happened. I may get up to Maryland sometime next month, may have to take a rod and some winter baits with me.

Let me know if you do and want company... was about to ask if you have made it back up recently.  Pike bite has been on fire and some muskies as well.

The cool water temps are right up their alley. You can get them in the early spring in both reservoirs- there used to be a grassbed directly across from the Greenbridge ramp in Triadelphia where you could catch them, and in Rocky Gorge the coves that had blowdowns in them and at Browns Bridge. Both are good fighters.
