So I moved the trolling motor battery up to the compartment in the front of my tracker to shorten the distance between the two items and it works great. Then added a second battery to the compartment when I upgraded the depth finders. Yes it added weigh to the front but the boat levels out faster and runs great with the extra weigh up in front.

So now I got a trolling motor I can use 12 or 24 volt but I only set it up to run on 12 this year, but now thinking of going 24 volt for more power and long running time. My questions are I know I can run them with battery jumpers cables is it better to have two new batteries or does it make a difference?

I was told I can still run my depth finders off the back battery and it will not effect them is that true or should I run them back to the rear and hook them up to a battery there?

Thanks for and thoughts on these questions

I would run the batteries in series for the tm and 2 batteries parallel in the stern.

The big advantage of 24 volts is more pounds of thrust.

You don't want to put electronics and a TM on the same batteries. The interference generated by the TM is not good for today's sensitive screens.

I was thinking the same thing but a guy told me it would not make a difference, so you make me feel better knowing some one agrees with me
