Started out on Wilson monday, caught a smallmouth and a largemouth. Dad caught a few of each as well. Was a bit windy on the main lake, calm in the creeks. Fish mostly came from rock ledge/points around entrance to creeks. Water Temp 70ish. Cloudy and windy.

Tuesday we spent all day on Wheeler, I caught 2 more smallmouth and a 5lb drum... (stupid drum). Dad caught a few more small largemouth (Everything we caught was 1lb or under, except for one of dads largemouth (~2lbs), and the drum...  Water Temp 70-71F. Very cloudy, no wind. At all.

I hooked a really nice smallmouth & got it all the way up to the boat, enough to get a decent look at it, and lost it..... was pretty upset. Basing it's size on the small 1lb I caught, this one was probably in the 3lb range... as it was at least triple the size of the small one I caught. So that sucked. Weather Tuesday was calm... VERY calm... at times no wind at all even on the main lake, which if you've fished Wheeler, you know that's not common. Got up this morning and checked the radar... Today was our last day to fish, we were supposed to come home Thursday morning. But it looked like we'd only get 2 hours on the water before the storm rolled in so, we used that time to load everything up and just head back home... I checked the radar again and Rogersville was slap covered up with yellows and reds and greens on the radar so, I think we made the right choice to come on back today...

To date my PB smallmouth is still only 1lb... but, I hope to change that soon.

Thanks for the great report.

Keep swinging at those smallies, you're in the right area to quickly up that PB. :-*
