I was so waiting for a cool north wind to cool things off and get the bass in the fall feeding to start.

When that happened Thursday with the added sprinkle of rain I made a beeline to the lake. Topwater was a zero. I looked for underwater structure near the shore and the high water helped that. 1.5 squarebill banging against submerged rocks worked. I could see the lure come to a dead stop and that means set the hook. The Mustad KVD trebles did what they were designed to and Good lord this bass went nuts, and caught air on the first jump.  I timed the next jump and swung her in the boat. Whew, that was just off the board. It's so rare when a fishing plan of attack works.

One note. That treble hook wound on her side was not from my hooks. The wound looked like it was healing so I revived her and she took off and should be fine. It was a nice feeling knowing that me and the person that snagged her returned her for another angler!

Mike I'm not sure how the duplicate posted and I can't seem to delete it. If you or any of the mods would delete it that would be great. So much for a plan coming together
