Alright guys, skunked again then went scouting:

LAKE HICKORY WHITE PERCH ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you guys want details pm me. I graphed the biggest school I've ever witnessed. Had to be 200 yards long, stacked on the bottom 10 feet high.

I put an earthworm color flatworm on a dropshot and it was getting attacked. I never hooked anything, probably because the hook was too big. I don't fish for them so anyone that wants details hit me up. Ill even meet you at Lakeside and take you there. I'm still in dropshot 101 and that would give me a chance to see how you guys do it and maybe video you!

The white perch are one of the best eat fish in the lake for meat hunters, No limit and No size. Once you get em biting it's a slug fest.  A 1/2 or 3/4 oz spoon will whack em, lo

Indeed they are a great tasting fish! Used to catch some big ones too when I was a kid, up in the 13"-14" range. The Chesapeake Bay area has a lot of them, although probably not as many now as when I was a kid. I've yet to catch one in the lake here, but they say they're here. I've also caught them on many types of small lures, Crappie jigs, spoons & spinners, ultralight crankbaits, various flies with fly gear, but if they're the fish you want to be catching, it's hard to beat a piece of nightcrawler.  :)

Good info guys. With the health warnings on the Catawba change I cant chan e it. I did get in a nice school down river in the summer. Most were a half pound. They were really attacking my square bill.
