Old stand by tear drop shape lead head with a single Colorado blade for a tail ... Anybody still use these ? Have a favorite color or two ? ... They can be deadly in the Fall on bass when the shad bunch up and retrieved through the shad school .

Been quite a while since I've used one but I still have a few in a box somewhere. Very effective bait in a lot of different situations.   ~c~

Not so much the Mann's, but I have made copies and fished them. Do it Molds has a couple of molds for making them, and I have two molds. I generally keep them simple, basic colors like white or black & vary the blade sizes a bit depending on the weight of the lure. I mostly just use nickel Colorado blades.

I've used them more for panfishing in the spring, with fish species like White & Yellow perch as they moved into the rivers to spawn, and have used them some for tidal river bass and Striped bass.

They're not a lure I may always tie on, but I keep some of them made, just because they can be a great alternative.

I'll dig them out & take a few photo's.  :)

Pretty cool BigJim - like to see some ... I was thinking of picking up a couple in 1/4 oz. as I fish more shallow , so the 1/2 oz. would be too much . Probably pick up an all white with silver hammered Colorado and a green shad for a little contrast with the same blade .

Yes, Sir! Still have them; still use them. They're the best lure, BAR NONE, for keeping pesky jet ski away from your boat. They fire like a Bob Gibson fast ball and sound like a gunshot when it hits the ski's hull. I also use them for vertical jigging.

D.W. Verts

Little George and the Pedigo Spinrite. Also maybe the best winter-time Walleye bait (for deeper fish) that I've ever used.

I've heard about them being used as a defensive weapon against PWC's. Just heard, mind you.

Color don't matter.

I have a few.

When the Stripers or the Hybreds FWC makes called Sunshine Bass are running in the St Johns River, lots of guys turn to the Little George.

I honestly have never caught a fish on one.

dad still throws one occasionally. I have one in the box I think.
We made a bunch of them years ago ourselves. I'm not sure who has the mold now. Dad or his brother one.

I went and looked to see what I still have, and was surprised I have several in various weights & colors. I'll post them in the Tackle Box, since they're lures I had made.

Here's a couple that I had bought. I'm sure they're not Mann's, and are also copies. I think I bought them with some other lures on Ebay but not absolutely sure.  ::)

Still one of the best lures ever for Hybrids.

Being serious, I used it a lot. You can use it as a swim bait on a fast retrieve, as a vertical jig, drop bait, dead stick, yo- yo or even gently crawl it along a clean bottom. That last retrieve won a BASS Top 50 event.
The "Little George" was named for Governor George Wallace of Aladamnbama by it's creator, Tom Mann, Sr.
I've seen knockoffs of the lure in various shapes but the original tear drop shape is a winner. I use chrome from the surface down 30-40 ft. Below that, I use all white.  That's just me and because I found a bunch of white on sale and needed an excuse to use them. Dale is correct and color isn't the reason bass eat it. Blade vibration and fast drop are the likely triggers.
