Hi gang, I just came across 2 of these CB radios from someone who moved and left these behind. I have 0 clue about these things and don't know if they even work, just found them in a closet. Are these worth anything? Thanks!

hook them up to a 12V supply and see if they come on, a lot of folks still use them!

Yes if they work... New, the one on top is $100-$150

looks like the bottom is $150-$175 new, but I'm not familiar with how the bluetooth works for a CB

Those are both really good CB radios. Definitely worth 75 used. Could possibly get a little more. I'd use them if I was you. Hang on to them. Never know when you may actually need them.

I love them for traveling, the big rigs still chat on them and when traveling with some one it's an easy way  to keep an open line to them. Obviously our vehicles can hook to our phones now so the "necessity" is no longer there but they can be handy.

You'll need antennas

You may want to hang onto them. When SHTF and the cell towers are shut down, you'll be glad you have them. Get a couple antennas to go with them.

The Cobra Brand is a very good well known Brand.

The 29 Series STOCK runs about 3-4 Watts of power (detuned to stay within FCC Guidelines) I had my 29 LTD Classic Peaked and Tuned at a CB Shop (Lots of Truckstops have one in them or very near by) and when he was done it was pushing about 30 Watts.

I ran Dual 5 ft Firesticks and could reach out anywhere from 5 to 50 plus miles depending on static and terrain. One time I talked with a guy that was about 110 miles away but that was on the Flat Plains of the Mid West.

The One on the Bottom with Bluetooth in a new one to me. BUT I read it and what it seems to add is Talkback. Talkback is where you can hear yourself talking back through the speaker and you can adjust it to control how loud your voice is. I had a Talkback Speaker that allowed me to do the same, the extra wire hooked up onto the PA Speaker output. It also does seem to get your voice out there "clearer" and many guys said they could hear me much better than the guy sitting next to me.

Their popularity comes and goes. Right Now, from what I hear, most of the Truckers are using the phones and with the unlimited plans talk to each other all day long on them. Plus you can get Maps and whatnot on your phone, so you don't need the Info from other Drivers like you did back in the 1970's-2000's.

Interestingly, Deer Dog Hunters also use them to communicate with each other ad the Dogs chase the Deer or Hogs.

So there is still a decent market for them.

I still have mine and I parked the Semi Rig back in 1997. While running it I was in every State in the 48 but Florida and North Dakota. I had mine in my last Pickup and used it quite a bit while traveling. Never put it in the SUV and haven't decided on the F-150 if I will or not.

Lucky!  You could give one to someone close to you so you can still communicate when the SHTF.  I thought about getting one to travel with.  We used to use them when we travelled.  It was a lot of fun talking with truckers, but those were the first fuzz busters, as the truckers would warn you if a smokey was up ahead or an accident and help you find an alternate route.  Had a lot of fun with them.
There is nothing like sharing any moment outdoors with someone special!
