This is always a brutal month  ~sweat :surrender: The heat is really putting a whoopin on me when I'm out. Maybe it's not the heat but rather I'm getting to old to put up with the heat  ~b~

To be honest with my competitors in the Gold, my goal is simply to hit the century mark and not betting you  ~bb I have a two day tournament next weekend and in order to win that I'll need some quality fish. So maybe I can get my century mark, win the tournament, and take home some IBass Gold :-* Or fall on my face and get cooked on the water trying :surrender:

Congrats on a couple good fish Lou, you're one 20 inch cull from a century mark yourself ~c~

August is always a brutal month everywhere except in Erie waters. The water temps are still in the low 80's and air temps are usually cooler on the lake.
I will be working 4 more days and have the rest of the month at camp.  ;D

Thanks Mike, my 2 dq's bass didn't help me for IB Gold, so I need to double down on my last 2 outings of the month.   ~bb I hear you about this heat Mike. My heat tolerance is not the same as it used to be, and I'm sure it will worsen some more over time.

Funny/inspirational story. Where I have been fishing lately, also happens to be one of the areas Roland Martins fishes and films content for his You Tube channel. We saw him a couple of weeks and briefly spoke with him right before he launched his canoe.

Roland is 80 years old, and he fished for over 8-9 hours on this brutal day, by himself.  I know this because, we fished for 7.5 hours that day, and when we left, we passed Roland's truck. He was still out there and was no where to be seen!! Meanwhile, we were both exhausted in my truck heading home. I told my BIL, jokingly if Roland can do it, we should re-launch and fish 2 more hours!! We simultaneously said "yeah right".

Last week, as we headed to our fishing spot, we passed Roland's truck again, and he had already launched. We fished over 7 hours again this day, and again, heading back, we passed his truck, with him no where to be seen. This old timer is TOUGH!!

Thank You Zippy, it all came together for me at the end again. Like June, I had a tournament at the end of the month that I had to save fish for and then hope they bite... Scary waiting on one day and that the fish cooperate.

I did this for a friend and the day we showed up to put the smack on them and they had lockjaw. No matter how well you think you have them figured out it is still a crap shoot if they want to bite or not.
