I have an Evinrude 225 HO/DI that has             a 14.5 x 26 FURY4 prop on it when I bought the boat.  It is to much prop for my motor. So I put the OEM 14.5 x 24 RAKER back on it. Can anyone recommend the best prop for my set up.  My boat is a 2001 Triton TR-22 PDC. TIA

Note I have a 14.5 x 26 FURY4 for sale if anyone is interested make me an offer...

I'm going to suggest a 25 Fury for flat out speed or 24P 4 blade if you want some awesome handling. I'm a huge fan of 4 blade props. If you run on a lot of big water you'll be amazed how well you'll stay hooked up. A 24P 4blade will give you a better hole shot too. That's a lot of boat and weight.

You should try to trade that 26p for a 24p, so you'll only be out the cost of shipping the prop.

I would think the 24p Fury 4 would be amazing on that boat.  If you wanted a 3 blade, a 25p Tempest Plus could be a good option.

Do you have any friends that would let you borrow these to try out?

I wish I did or could find a trade for a 24P FURY4...

I would go to the BBC props for sale section, they are constantly having trade deals that might match up with yours.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with a Tempest prop.

look into a bravo XS 4 blade.  I am running a 24 on my PHX and it rides, gets out of the hole like a dream.  A 25 would be better for speed but 70 is fast enough for me.  I prefer the soft ride myself

Mercury has a new try it before you buy it prop program. Unfortunately, every Mercury dealer in my area is not participating in the program. You might want to reach out to your local dealers and ask. It's worth a try. I saw an add recently about it so I called around.

That program would have helped you Flats. Bummer!!

Rothwell has a trade program for $50.  If the prop you buy isn't right, you can swap for a different pitch for $50.  I bought my new 24p Fury 4 from them for around $600 with free shipping using a coupon code.  Thankfully, I didn't need to return it, but it was nice to know I could for only $50 instead of trying to sell a prop I used for an hour.

@apenland01, Thanks for the information, I just shot them an email to see what they have available.

I sent you a PM with the coupon code.  It knocks the price down from $741 to $600 with free shipping.  Buying a prop and knowing you can swap it for another prop for $50 is a major stress reliever if you aren't completely sure what you need.

Another option if you are still looking is BBlades Propellers. Check them out on line. It's $55 to try out a prop plus shipping. They will help you dial in for the right setup. I almost went with them but they were out of the prop that I needed to try because it was back ordered from Mercury. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and asked me a ton of questions in order to recommend the right prop.

Old Post I know. Most of Bud's run a Tempest 25 or best a Fury 24.  If motor is old drop to Fury 23.  Do not try and sling a too high pitch. :surrender:
