E150FPLEEO Starter question.

99 Evinrude 150. Starter started sounding like it was full of rocks. Pulled the cover off and found this. It was dry and stuck in the up position. I lubed it and got it to drop back down. It still starts fine just sounds rough. I'd like to replace only the gear. But, I can't find a good part number. I can find the whole assembly with pinion shaft and everything, but not just the gear. Anybody got a way to find that number? Thanks in advance.... Mark....

Like you've discovered, it's only sold as a complete assembly and pricey. Your best bet is to find a used one. I'll PM my mechanic's number, he may have one laying around.
