Hi Guys-

I know there are several threads about cool hubs/turbo lube hubs but I cannot get my questions answered. I called Ranger and unfortunately they are not doing anything with trailers. They gave me Raymires contact info and they were less then helpful. The individual had no idea what they were talking about as she had to put me on hold and ask someone else. I now have more questions then I started with and this isn't that difficult. I'm looking for the full assembly already put together. That includes hub, bearings, seals, lube window etc. If I cannot locate the assembly I will change out race seals and bearings but I cannot locate anyone who can give me the correct info. I changed oil last weekend and noticed metal flakes in oil on one side. I'd like to change both sides now before I get stranded on side of road. The do it yourself topic that a member posted here is great and it will walk me through it. However I'd like to find the parts before I take it apart. I need pads as well and I'm scared they will ship incorrect parts period.

I understand JM changing things and although unfortunate that's fine. But to send us to a company that has no idea what they are doing and cannot get me the correct parts seems ridiculous. Any members have luck with a good trailer company that carries cool hub parts they can recommend? I may need to remove them and go to my local auto part store but wanted to check with other members. Sorry for the venting as well.

Just an update as maybe it will help the next member who has issues considering Ranger is no longer doing anything with trailers. I called several reputable trailer companies and no one was able to get me correct parts without having part numbers. No one carriers cool hubs any longer only the bearings, races and seal. I took my hub apart and ended up at my local Napa as a shot in the dark. They had everything I needed for replacement parts except the cool hub cap. I reused the existing since it was good. There was a very detailed write up on UB a number of years ago. While the model of hubs, parts defer the process is exactly the same. I did have an issue with the oil seal on the rear side. For some reason it would not seat against the race and wanted to slowly pop out half way. I used some RTV silicone which is what was previously used and all is good.

Its very unfortunate that Ranger is not dealing with trailers any longer. Being able to call Ranger parts for anything needed on your specific trailer/boat was Rangers staple. They could locate the exact part and have it to you in a few days. Hopefully the level of service from the new trailer manufacture is the same great service.
