Dobyns Sa 704SF med/hvy what line

have a stradic c14+     putting on a Dobyns SA704SF med/hvy rod. was currently using 10 lb braid fishing heavy grass, lily pads shoreline. Would 30 lb test  braid be to heavy and over kill? what would you guys use. have used mainly yum dinger weighted and non , neds etc

I fish this rod a lot for weightless flukes and other weightless baits using 10 or 12 pound K9 fluoro blend on 3000/30 size reels.  I fish a lot of cover with these and never have a problem.  I have also used 10 and 20 pound braid, but like the clear look of the fluoro line better.  I can't use pure fluoro in 10 or 12 pound on my spinning reels because it won't behave, but the blended fluoro line works great.

30# braid is equivalent to what size mono? about 8#.  You should be fine using that braid depending on your spinning reel if it is 2500 size or bigger.  I have a Sierra 693SF and use 20# braid and a 12# floro leader for t rig plastics.
