Lake Redman

Went to smaller lake near work for a couple hours. The last few days of cold nights had the water temp down to 61.

The fish were all over the craw rattle trap but only managed to boat 1. 2 threw the hook and many more swatting the lure it seems. A productive couple hours.

Decent fish!

They're on beds now. Expect a lot of swats at moving baits. Follow up those type of bites with a jig or Senko to that same spot.

Totally agree with you there. I'm still trying to figure out that dynamic on the kayak. I try to keep all but my one rod behind me in the rod holders, otherwise I tend to get them tangled. The transition back and forth is kind of a pain. I also have to keep fighting the wind which makes a follow up also hard. This time of year I'll work on keeping that follow up rod in my lap. A really short rod might almost be needed.

I have my eye on a new kayak. Much wider so I can have rod storage on the floor and pedal drive to help maintain position in light wind. Anchor just isn't conducive to working long section of bank.

It's an evolving system and I get better at it each time I am on the water. Boy part of me wants to buy a nucanue with a motorguide x3i on the bow lol

I couldn't seem to get any reaction to the chatterbait which I thought was surprising.
