Zippy gave me the green light to make the report thread since he is up in Erie now for the week without decent service.

It was a decent spring day in Pennsylvania. The weather was fairly warm, the skies were overcast, and the wind was manageable. We had 3 UB members show up for our first ever meet and greet, and I brought along a longtime friend to fish with us as well.

The first spot we went to ended up being the only spot I got to fish due to some motor troubles. We fished a big flat that comes up from deep water that has rocks, wood, and grass all mixed in together. We got a few bites but couldn't connect, until my friend eventually hooked into a 5lb 10oz hog that absolutely choked his Red Eye Shad. She was bleeding really bad before we ever even got her out of the net, so we took some very quick pictures and got her back in the water.

We fished a while longer until we realized that my engine wouldn't start and we had to have Zippy tow us about 3 miles back to the launch area. Zippy and Alex went back out to the main lake to keep fishing. My buddy and I ran the trolling motor around the Aitch area and worked on some fish. I managed to get one small one and I lost another one.

All in all, I think everyone had fun despite and the things that happened (pandemic, boat troubles, etc). Hopefully next time around we can get even more people to show up and the fish will cooperate more.

Zippy and I fished the Shy (Sweet  lo) Beaver area in the morning. We each had a couple knocks but not much more. After towing Fishballer back to safety we decided to run south pretty far. We ran about 10 miles south and found a cove that had some warm water (63 degrees) in it. One section of bank was pretty stocked with buck bass preping beds in inches of water. We worked that area mostly sight fishing with a hula grub. Zip put two in the boat and I lost one at the boat.

I had a great day. Met Alex and had a good time.
My boat ran great, and everything worked on it.
Also boated a few.

Hula grubs and slider jigs? No wonder you finally caught a few fish. The fish jump in the boat whenever Zippy ties one of those on.
