Should I use a 2 or 3 power Dobyns Rod

My Sierra 703SF is most used spinning rod. I don't use spinning rods for much except Wacky Senkos, Drop Shot, and Ned Rigs. I'm actually looking at adding a Kaden 712SF for Stupid Tube rigs. I like the Kayden series a lot.

*Hey Mike , Gary is 100% correct in the interview : I fish all of the applications Gary named , so I invested in both a 702SF & a 703SF and am glad I did . Gary is also correct in saying : "If you can only have one rod - go with a 703 because it can do it all" . Food for thought : Buy a Dobyns 703 and use two $60 Daiwa 2500 spinning reels for it . Load one with #15 lb. Power Pro Braid (mono backing) and load the other spinning reel with #7 lb. Sunline FC Sniper (also with mono backing) . Then you have one set up for the Ned Rig and Drop Shot (#7lb. FC reel) and one set up for Shaky Head (#15 lb. Braid mainline plus #7 lb. ~ #10 lb. FC leader) . *Your next interview should be : "Why you need the :  The Holy Trinity Of 7'3" Dobyns Bait Cast Rods : The 733 , 734 & the 735" .

The 703 or 713 or 733 as the go to, can do it all power for spinning is so accurate. You can fish any technique with this power range including jerk baits.

I'm of the idea you can match the reel of your choice with 12 pound braid and match leader test and length to the lure.  Now if you want to move in the dedicated rod direction,  add a 2 power for neds and drop shot.

I plan to purchase a couple 703 for spinning reels. Fury line looks to be the choice bc I use braid to leader, which means dont need most sensitve. I have a 703 in the Maverick series. Anyone have opinions on this one?

I like your thinking on this. For me I also hold the line with my finger when working/dragging a bait.

The braid to leader on spinning reels help with sensitivity and I find you don't need the most sensitive rod. Ive not been using the 703 Maverick spinning reel long. Maybe others who have the 703 in Maverick and Fury can weigh in.
