Looks like fishing is a thing again but there are stipulations. I hope WSSC gets onboard soon and gets Rocky Gorge and Triadelphia opened up.

Effective Thursday, May 7, at 7 a.m., recreational boating activities, including motorized and non-motorized vessels and personal watercraft, are permitted, however:

Boaters must be with immediate family members or people with which they reside.
No more than 10 people can be on a boat at one time, including captain and crew.
Boats must be distanced from each other by at least 10 feet and are prohibited from rafting up, beaching, or having rendezvous events.
Boats are prohibited from docking at restaurants or bars.
Vessel and boat races remain prohibited.
Marinas can reopen to recreational boaters, but must adhere to the Maryland Departments of Commerce and Health guidelines.
Pump-out stations and boats may resume operations under the Departments of Commerce and Health guidelines.
Local jurisdictions may choose to open public boat ramps, but must ensure social distancing guidelines.
All normal boating rules and regulations are in effect and must be followed.

I saw that Maryland has eased the restrictions and I'm wondering if WSSC is going to re-open possibly by the weekend. Here's hoping they re-open the reservoirs soon!

huh?

From WSSC web site recreation page:

contacting the Brighton Dam Visitor's Center at telephone number (301) 206-7485

lets have 1,000 people call every day and ask "When will the lakes open in accordance with Hogan's decree opening the state for boating and fishing?"

I just called and the response was "we're closed until further notice".... I need my damn reservoir back!!!

it is working, their website says this

Update -  May 7, 2020 -WSSC Water's outdoor recreational property is not state owned. We are aware of the Governor's order and are working closely with our local health departments to determine when to safely open our watershed. We remain committed to protecting public health and will reopen when we have developed a plan that will ensure the safety of visitors and staff. Updates will be posted here and will be emailed to everyone on our outdoor recreation email list. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

they are working with public health department  ~roflmao

maybe once they test the ramp asphalt and Scotts cove water for coronavirus they will open?

"we will reopen when we have developed a plan that will ensure the safety...", geez the lakes were closed the last 6 weeks. maybe you should have been working on your plan for six weeks and instead of starting after the Governor has reopened.

WSSC is a joke. I've lost all hope in dealing with them a long time ago. At least we're making progress! Right before they closed me and my buddy had close to a 20lb bag, fish were very very shallow. It's gonna be interesting to see what they're doing now with a good break in fishing pressure and some goofy weather

I read today WSSC is opening both lakes back up tomorrow. They also stated you don't need a WSSC permit to use the reservoir until June 30th I think it is. So get out there, have fun, catch some big ones cause they have been swimming around since the middle of March, they should be hungry . You have to practice social distancing, groups no bigger than 10, and any trash you generate you have to take with you. The Visitors Center will remain closed, don't know when that will re-open.

Looks like you figured them out after a long layoff! Good job. Nice striper, the bass look to be 3-4 lbs a piece?
