nope, not fish herpes.

made it out again today.  what a great day.  the 'heavy weather' that hit TX, AR, MS etc, stayed south and projected thunderstorms/lightning did not materialize.  it did rain, however.  I pulled up to the ramp and wss surprised to see the parking lot COMPLETELY EMPTY!  this just does not happen.

in Soddy Creek arm today.  headed over to a backwater known for spawning activity.  it's also protected, out of the wind and would have relatively cleaner water.

62°F water.  stained (visibility about 1.5 feet).  No big girls; they continue to elude.  with stain started out tossing darker plastics (lizard, brushhog) - no takers.  switched over to bright floating worms, wacky.  no takers.

went to standby tube (green pumpkin) and started getting bites.  about 4-5 feet deep.  Did most of damage on the tube today.  had about 3 bites where they'd hit as I was reeling up for next cast, so after the tube bite dwindled, tied on a keitech fat swing impact swimbait (ayu) and started a steady, moderate speed retrieve in slightly deeper water.  managed a few more.

best fish of the day pushed maybe 3.5 pounds.  best 5 was probably somewhere over 12, but not 15.
