Hey everybody, I was wondering what your most productive lure or style bait is? Feel free and please do share it all. Size, type, weight, brand, color, and the way you fish it.  I know this varys with people and where/when you fish but I'm really curious to know. For me a 3/8oz tube jig with a Xzone tube on my Dobyns 734C has caught me some fish. Thanks so much I'm looking forward to hearing about it.

Last year and this spring it's been a hand built spinnerbait for me. A jig will always be up there, as well as a Keitech. And in the summer/fall, a Cavitron buzzbait is a money maker for me.

I got it...

My most productive lure when I'm fishing from my boat is the HB Frog. My current go to frog are the Spro's 60 & 65.

I'm sure it's hard for you long time fisherman, you guys have thrown tonnes of  lures nonetheless picking one. Wow a frog! Interesting I wasnt expecting that. ;)

You have to take into consideration the part of the country I live in. I live fairly close to the Everglades, and if you add up all of our cold days this year, it equals one week. The frog can be fished almost 365 days a year down here. If you ever bored, and you want to learn shallow water techniques, come over an hang out in the FL forums. ;)

Probably a crankbait for me but that's probably because I love throwing them so I throw them more than anything else.

Most productive crank for me (since I stopped throwing my old Bagleys and Pre-Rapala Wiggle Warts)  hands down has been the Norman Deep Little N in Sunshine Gelcoat Spring Crawdad (color number 154).

But day in and day out if I had to be limited to only one bait it would be a jig.  Arguably the most versatile bait out there and a proven big fish catcher too.

Right behind that would be a T - rig worm.

A jig for big fish and a Charlie brewer slider jig with a finesse worm or a Yamamoto Hula grub in green pumpkin.

I have caught  the winning bags in several tourneys with  the Hula grub followed with a mop jig for the bigger fish.

Vibe, Vibe and Vibe.

More specifically a Bitters Vibe in "Sprayed Grass".  It's basically a finesse bait on a power setup.

I rig it with a 1/8 oz pegged tungsten T rig on a 2/0 EWG Superline Gama hook.  I fish it on a 7-10 MF+ rod with a Revo XS-HS and 30 lb power pro braid.

The 1/8 oz bullet is all you need to get the tail action on the fall.  I discovered it about 10 years ago and have built several dedicated rods that have never thrown any other bait.

Sprayed Grass is a combo of purple and green with purple and green flake.  It looks like a bluegill swimming by and in the shallow, stained, vegetation filled lakes of central FL, the bass can't resist it.

I can cast, pitch, drag, drop, swim, hop, or burn it back on the surface.  Most of the time it's a combination of several techniques on the same cast.

I've caught thousands of fish on it from 8 inches to 28 inches.

I also have it rigged similarly on several spinning rigs for my clients. It's impossible to fish it "wrong" , extremely weedless, and will catch fish just by being in the water.

If you don't have pieces leftover, you didn't put it back together right...

I'll Back up Lee's Claim on a Vibe Worm.

I'll use whatever Bait I need to to get Fish to bite on any given day, But Year In and Year Out Swimming a Zoom Ultra-Vibe Speedworm puts more fish in my boat than any other bait-- Hands Down.

I Have used it from Weightless to Buzz the top of Floating Dollar Pads for EXPLOSIVE Strikes, but mostly I swim it with an 3/16 oz Pegged Bullet Weight on a 6'6" to 7'3" MH Rod on mostly 50 lb Power Pro Braid but have caught Hundreds of Bass using everything from Trilene TransOptic 12 lb to Sunline 17 lb Floro tied to a Gammy 5/0 EWG hook.

When Swimming I vary the Retrieve to match the Speed the want. That can be just fast enough to make the tail spin to Burning it as fast as I can. Mostly it's just a smooth steady easy retrieve.

Hits will be anywhere from a simple Tap to Jerk the rod out of your hand.

You can also use it on a C-Rig, T-Rig and Drag, Hop, or let it Lay on the Bottom. They all catch fish.

Colors for me I tend to use the one that's getting hit more and also tend to lean towards certain colors based on Water Color, Water Clarity, Sky Color.

Main Ones I use are:

Watermelonseed, Watermelon Red, Junebug, Junebug Red, Black Sapphire (Black with Blue Specks).

Great Bait that will put All Sizes of Bass in the boat from 6-8" to 27"+.

Here's a couple that grabbed a Swimming U-Vibe.

SHC286

Bleedin Shad Rat'l Trap. Can't remember the size, it's one of the bigger ones though, bout as long as my finger. Rip it through grass, tug and let it sink, and sometimes just burn the hell out of it like there's no tomorrow. Most of the paints been knocked off of mine.

Also anything made by Nutech and Keitech paired together is a winner.

I'm probably the only one here who's never caught a fish on a HB Frog.

If I absolutely, positively, 100% need to get bit, it's a Texas rig plastic work 7" or so long.
Second would be a deep diving crankbait.
Quit reading this and go fishing!

Wow thanks so much guys! I'm for sure gonna have to try these out especially that Vibe worm, I've never even heard of it! Definitely a place to look if I'm struggling on the water. I really apreciate the responses and I'm gonna be putting them to good use. ;) Deadeye some nice fish there! Thanks for sharing the pics it's a good reminder for me you dont always need a big bait to catch big fish.

I had a couple massive blow ups when I first started trying the frog. About the time I figured out what I was doing wrong, trying to set the hook to quickly, I haven't had a strike on one since then.

Doesn't stop me from still trying every now and then.

To really be effective fishing a HB Frog, you got to Commit to it. Tie one one and keep using it all day if needed. If they want it you'll figure it out pretty soon.

Vary the Cadence of the hops, jumps, walks, wiggles, whatever until you start getting bit. When it's On it's On and super cool deal.

Where you are fishing can really determine if Frog Fishing is good or not. Some waters they dominant the forage and work great, others they might not.

I had one lake that they tore them up all one summer, caught Big Ones everyday I fished it with a Frog. Then for whatever reason it turned off. Has NEVER came back like it did that one Summer. Why?? Don't know for sure but I'd say there must of been a huge Frog population in that area that year and they were used to eating them.

Some of the Bass from that year
